First Nations, Métis and Inuit lesson plans

As part of Alberta's commitment to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, Alberta Education has promised "that all students in the province of Alberta will learn about the history and legacy of residential schools and the history of First Nations, Métis and Inuit in Canada."
To support teachers with this commitment, a series of lesson plans have been developed for Grades 1 to 9 in English language arts, fine arts, science and social studies. The lessons have been aligned with the current Alberta Programs of Study and are available for teachers to use at their own discretion.
Each lesson plan contains a variety of resources and activities for teachers to use to engage students in meaningful and authentic learning experiences. This is one step in Alberta's commitment to addressing reconciliation within the program of studies.

From MIchelle

Zones Lessons for Teachers

Hello all!

Thank you so much for coming to my presentation today! I had a blast and hopefully you had an ok time too!

Here are all the resources as promised. They are divided into lessons and then subdivided into divisions. There is A LOT of material in here so if you feel like you are completely lost please let me know and I will try to help!

After you complete the lessons and you are interested in more social thinking, please let me know because I have lots of that too!

Your school OTs are also a wealth of knowledge about zones so if you are feeling like you need some support, make sure you ask them! I am available by email as well.
