New Links on the Alberta Education Website - Make sure to check them out :-)

Here are some great resources Cathy shared with us

I discovered that Alberta Education has added some more links to the math page for educators. Here is the link.

You will see the following:
  • Alberta K-9 Mathematics Achievement Indicators 2015 (We had some clarifications added in 2014)
  • Summary of Updates to: Alberta K-9 Achievement Indicators (We had this before but was done in 2014)
  • Fact Sheet Sample Standard/Traditional Algorithms (New document & has been added because there has been some confusion around teaching algorithms - how, when, etc)
  • Additional Support Resources (New and provided at grade level - These are NOT Alberta Education approved but have been provided for more support to teachers and students)
I was at an Alberta Education meeting this morning and the numeracy people said that they will be adding more information to this site. So, I'd recommend checking back.

Reminder, especially as we have Meet the Teacher this week, don't forget the parent section where you can find links to all the math videos (Alberta High School Math, My Child's Math, 7 Processes, Math: It's Everywhere) and FAQs for parents and Fact Sheets & Useful Links.
